Chris Martinez is a Mexican-American filmmaker from Austin, Texas who is currently based in Brooklyn. He attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where he earned a B.F.A. in Undergraduate Film & TV.

He has worked on professional sets for projects affiliated with companies such as PBS, Hallmark, and ShortMax and has experience in producing, editing, and production assisting. He also served as a script development intern under Ryan Cunningham’s Running Man / Running Woman Productions.

He has directed short films both digitally and on celluloid, and collaborated with Alex Sulock on a microbudget road-trip dramedy, Aitana Needs a Gun, which is currently streaming on the indie platform NoBudge. Additionally, his NYU thesis film, Canicas, was an official selection at the 2025 National Film Festival for Talented Youth in Seattle.

His short screenplay, Hombre, placed as a Second-Rounder at the 2024 Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition and as a Semi-Finalist at the 2024 Cinequest Screenwriting Competition. He is currently working on bringing it to the screen.
