Chris Martinez is a Mexican-American filmmaker from Austin, Texas who is currently based in Brooklyn. He attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where he earned his B.F.A. in Undergraduate Film & TV.

He has worked on professional sets for projects affiliated with companies such as PBS and Hallmark and has experience in producing, editing, and production assisting. He also served as a script development intern under Ryan Cunningham’s Running Man / Running Woman Productions.

He most recently collaborated with Alex Sulock on their microbudget road-trip feature, Aitana Needs a Gun, which is currently streaming on the indie platform NoBudge. Additionally, his NYU thesis film, Canicas, was an official selection at the 2025 National Film Festival for Talented Youth in Seattle.

His short screenplay, Hombre, won the Best Short Screenplay Prize at the 2025 Nantucket Film Festival and placed as a Second-Rounder at the 2024 Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition. He is currently working on bringing it to the screen.
